Sunday morning at 10:45am is the time
of worship during the months of September through May. Our worship
service combines the best of tradition with contemporary elements.
We sing the 'old favorites'. We thrill to the powerful sounds of
the organ, played by organ majors from Oberlin College, and the wonderful blend of voices in the Adult Choir.
We say the Lord's Prayer as Jesus taught the disciples to pray.
There is a sermon because, like Paul the Apostle to the nations,
we believe "faith
comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Minutes for Mission,
announcements and joys/concerns, members sharing gifts of trumpet, violin, cello and voice are also a part of our
worship of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The children of our Little Wonders Presbyterian Prschool come and sing with enthusiasm twice a year.
The time of this service changes to 9:30 during the months of June, July and August. The summer worship hour
generally reflects the above description of the 10:45am service.
An early service at 8:30am provides worshippers with
a choice during the year. A simpler, quieter service, with less music
and more time spent in prayer and fellowship appeals to the 'early birds' as well as to those who seek an informal worship service with a high degree of trust among the members and friends of the church. The message is less sermonic in form and more converational. Communion around the Lord's Table is a weekly observance.
During June, July and
August, the time of the early service changes to 8:00am.
