Since 1833 the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has been in mission
service around the world.The Worldwide Ministries Division (WMD)
empowers the church in each place to share the transforming power
of the gospel of Jesus Christ with all people. The staff of about
100 members is divided into three main work areas. One sends people,
one sends resources, and one builds relationships with partner churches.
Global Service and Witness mobilizes the faithful and advocates
for the General Assembly in public policy debates. It has seven grant-making
and scholarship programs:

Jinishian Memorial Program
People in Mutual Mission recruits ,
sends, and sustains mission personnel. They facilitate and enhance
the work of approximately 400 long-term and 75 short-term missionaries.

speakers . Staff facilitates mission
teams and study seminars .
Ecumenical
Partnerships develops and nurtures partnership
relationships of the PC(USA) with 165 or so churches and institutions
in over 80 countries around the
world. The staff also works with congregations, presbyteries
and synods to develop international
mission partnerships with corresponding entities. Relations
with interfaith and ecumenical bodies
are also sustained by these offices. |
